Show Will Award CPA Key to Graduate Officers of the Utah Association Associa-tion of Certified Public Accountants Accoun-tants have notified College of Southern Utah that beginning with the 1965-66 school year, an outstanding graduate of the business busi-ness department will be chosen annually to receive the Utah CPA Key Award. To be qualified, each recipient must have a degree de-gree in business with emphasis on accounting. Professor A. W. Stephenson, chairman of the CSU Division of Business and Social Sciences, said that Fred Baugh, vice president pre-sident of the Utah CPA, and Wayne Tenney, member of the awards committee, visited CSU to complete a study of the business department before announcing selection of the college as a sponsoring institution for the award. Other Utah colleges and universities participating in the programs are Utah State University, Univer-sity, Weber State College, University Univer-sity of Utah and Brigham Young University. Eric Gardner, native of Cedar City, was recipient of the award at the U of U in 1964. The Utah CPA Key Award was first granted in 1948 as tangible recognition of academic achievement achieve-ment in accounting. The group is a professional organization of CPAs residing In the state. It-" objectives include promotion of professional standards such as ir.tcgr'ty, ability, and professional profession-al conduct among its members; preservation of the good name of the professsion; and cultivation of the spirit of professional cooperation co-operation and social Interchange among its members. |
