Show Funeral Rites Honor Minnie Laub Orton Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed for Mrs. Minnie Laub Orton on Wednesday, April 21, in the Parowan Third Ward chapel by Bishop Verl E. Taylor. Mrs. Orton died on Monday, April 19 in a St George rest home after a long illness. Speaker for the services was Karl Mitchell with a brief history his-tory of the life of the deceased being read by Mrs. Jean Hend-rlckson, Hend-rlckson, followed by brief remarks re-marks by Bishop Taylor. A double-mixed quartet, consisting con-sisting of Alice Mitchell, Bertrude Mitchell, Berta Dalton, Roberta Rowley, Clair Rowley, Ray Lyman, Ly-man, Harold Mitchell and Rulan Dalton, sany two numbers, "Rock of Ages", and "Lead Me Gently Home." Special musical numbers were a vocal solo, 'That Wonderful Wonder-ful Mother of Mine", by Howard D. Knight, accompanied by Mrs. Mary Lyman, and an organ solo by Mrs. Deon R. Williams, granddaughter grand-daughter of the deceased. Mrs. Itha Mortensen was at the organ for prelude and postlude music and was accompanist for the double mixed quartet The prayer at the family home was offered by a son, Reed L Orton. Invocation was by a grandson, Jim Robinson, the benediction ben-ediction was offered by Howard Ward and the grave In the Parowan Paro-wan City cemetery, was dedicated dedicat-ed by Hal S. Mitchell. Six of Mrs. Orton's grandsons acted as pallbearers, as follows, Albert, LeRoy and Douglas Orton, Or-ton, Norman and Jerry D. Robinson Rob-inson and Steven Orton. Flowers were taken care of by the Third Ward Relief Society Ladles with tho help of the granddaughters. |
