Show Dewey Topham Is Eagle Award Recipient At Brian Head District Court of Honor Sun. At the monthly Boy Scout Court of Honor of the Brian Head District, Dis-trict, held on Sunday evening, April 23, Dewey Topham, active scout and scout leader in the Third Ward Troop No. 343, was presented wHii an Eagle Scout Award. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Topham. Topham has served an patrol leader, and Is assistant scoutmaster scout-master of his tioop now. He has served in a supervisory rapacity rapaci-ty for the past two years in boy scout work at the well known Maple Dell Boy Scout camp in Payson Canyon, as well In In similar capacities In scout camps In our own area. He is a senior at Parowan Hogh School where he has been aCive In music, and athletics. Participating In the very Impressive Im-pressive ceremony were other Eagle Scouts of the district, in- r i DEWEY TOPHAM eluding Hal WheaUey, Elliot Hu-let, Hu-let, Jud Hendrickson, Wayne Grimshaw, Glen Robinson and George Bank, Jr.; Lowell Caldwell, Cald-well, scoutmaster, Don C. Low-der, Low-der, troop committeeman, and Mr. and Mrs. Topham. Other advancements In scout rars made during the court of honor .vere: to Life Scout, Kenny Orion, Ronald Johnson; to Star scout, Jerry Farnsworth, Jody Slmklns, Ward Bettridge and Clair Halterman; to first class scout. Kip Stones; to second class, Kim Adams and Tracy Smith.. In addition a total of 24 Merit Badges were given out to scouts of the district. Troop 343 of the Third Ward won the high point award for the third time and is to receive a trophy for this achievement. Troop 343 also had charge of the opening and closing ceremonies with Jud Hendrickson directing the opening song with Lawrence Burton at the piano. The Court of Honor for May will he held in the Paragonah Ward chapel on May 23 at 8 p. m. it was announced by W. Clair Rowley, district advancement chairman, who conducted the program. |
