Show Top Club Members Attend State Confab The Tops Club's annual State Recognition Day was held in Salt Lake City April 24th at the Prudential Pru-dential Federal Saving's Building. Build-ing. Theme for this year's event was "The Key to Happiness." Among the activities on the agenda agen-da were an awards ceremony and a lecture by Mrs. Winifred Jor-dine, Jor-dine, food editor for the Deseret News. It was reported at the confab that out of 30 state clubs, there had been a total loss of 5,967 pounds (nearly 3 tons). Mrs. Orpha Taylor, who had lost 85 pounds, was crowned the State Queen. The Cedar City club and some local members also received special spe-cial recognition. The "Walking Stick" award was given to the Cedar City group for the second year in a row for having traveled the farthest number of miles to the confab. . Kalhryn Jones, Jocal club president, was honored as a Chapter Queen for having lost the most weight In her club. Three ladles, Mary Nickels, Joyce Bryant Bry-ant and Phyllis Wood, received their Keep Off Pounds Sensibly award. Phyllis Wood also won 2nd place winner in the state division di-vision 5 group. Cedar City club members who attended th Recognition Day were Betty Schoppman, Jane Munford, Sherrt Sorenson, Thel-ma Thel-ma LovelL Penny Rich, Gertrude Reese, Joyce Stephens and Jen-'nle Jen-'nle Matheson.
