Show I Athletic Activities at Parowan High School Win Tennis Matches The PHS tennis squad is doing very well this year, and added to more team wins to the list during the week, downing the Hurricane High team in matches at Parowan last Wednesday, according ac-cording to Lowell Caldwell, tennis ten-nis coach. In the above matches, Parowan won four singles matches and lost the one double match played. play-ed. Greg Miller won over Lem-mon, Lem-mon, Hurricane, 6-2, 6-2; Billy Trimmer won the No. 2 match, over his opponent 7-5, 6-4; Kenny Ken-ny Watson down his opponent, 6-3 6-3, and Clint Bentley won from Wilcox, Hurricane, 6-1, 3-2 In the doubles match, Bentley and Mahlon Dalley lost first set 11-9, won the second 7-5 and lost third 6-2. On Monday the Parowan High players went to Cedar for a series ser-ies of matches, and registered another an-other team win. In singles play, Greg Miller beat Mac Clark, 7-5, 6-3; Clint Bentley lost his first set to Duncan Dun-can 3-6, then came back to win 6- 4 and 11-9. Kenny Watson dropped drop-ped his match to Parry of Cedar, 3-3 and 3-6. Brent Adams took the No. 4 match, with his Cedar opponent, 6-0, 6-3. In the doubles matches the to schools divided honors, Par-wan Par-wan winning the first, Cedar the second. Dalley and Trimmer heat Humphries and Woolf, 6-2 and 7- 5; and Gary Jenson and Scott Day, new players, lost to Roberts and Partner of Cedar, 3-6 and 4-6. of matches scheduled with the Beaver High I Baseball Games ! The baseball team from the Parowan High School won one game and lost one during the past week, trading victories and defeats with the Lincoln County High team from Panaca according accord-ing to Charles Brinkerhoff, baseball base-ball coach. In the first game, played on the Parowan field, the Rams won by a 6 to 4 score. Each of the teams got five hits but the visitors made eight errors to three for the Rams, making the difference. differ-ence. Getting the Parowan hits were Scott Potter with two, and one each for Joe Navajo, John Guffey and Larry Topham. Bill Knight pitched four Innings, striking out 8 and walking 2. He was relieved by Scott Potter in the first of the fifth and the latter got three strikeouts. The second game was played on the city park at Pioche, Nev. and again errors made the difference dif-ference with the Rams making 14 of them. Lincoln got 5 runs in the first inning and went on to win the game by 10 to 7. Knight, Parowan starting pitcher was knocked out of the box in the first inning, with Potter going the rest of the way and getting 12 strikeouts, but errors paved .the way for the Ram's downfall. Parowan got 10 hits while the Nevadans got only four. Parowan got two home runs, one by Guffey and one by Robby Robb, with Guffey going all the way around on an error for the same as a home run. Hard hitting Joe Navajo got 3 hits for 3 trips to the plate, Knight got 2, Potter, Pot-ter, and Gerald Davenport one each. Parowan has one game left, the last league game, with Hurricane. Hur-ricane.
