Show Joint BPWMeeting Held by St. George, Cedar City Fourteen members of the St. George Business and Professional Profession-al Women's club met with the Cedar City club Saturday, March 21, at El Escalante hotel, to welcome wel-come state officers on their visit to the two southern Utah organizations. organi-zations. State officers visiting the two clubs were Jean Schonka, state president; Marcella Finlay, first vice president; Ada Burt, second vice president; Anna Erickson, corresponding secretary, and Alice Pendleton, state legislative chairman. Miss Mamie Eck, chairman of the civil defense committee of the local club, was in charge of the affair. President Schonka gave a thorough thor-ough review of the biennial convention con-vention and urged all members to be present at the state convention con-vention to be held in Vernal on June 5, 6 and 7. Vice president Burt gave vital facts about civil defense and urged all members who possibly could to attend the civil defense de-fense school at Marysvale, Calif. Music for the evening was furnished by Pauline Hirschi and Christine Houchen, who sang solos from the Branch Agricultural Agricul-tural college opera being presented pre-sented this week.
