Show Stake Bazaar Adds $2,500.00 to Building Fund Drive Indications are that over $12500 will be added to the building fund for a Cedar Stake Center through the efforts of Relief Society So-ciety women of the stake. The women observed their March 17 anniversary ' Friday, March 20, with an all-stake activity which included a bazaar and a pageant. The funds were raised Friday afternoon and evening. The bazaar was supported by women of the stake who took articles to be sold, and by a large number of purchasers who bought the articles. Purchasers included all ages from children through adults. The bazaar was divided into sections with each of the 10 wards of the stake having handmade articles displayed dis-played in individual booths. A country store proved to be very popular with produce, baked goods and other articles being sold. Mrs. Henry Jones of the Stake Relief Society presidency was in charge of the country store. She was assisted by Mrs. Earl Merryweather. A snack bar set up in the kitchen and banquet rooms of the First Fifth ward where the events took place, helped swell the proceeds for the building fund. Mrs. Walter G. Lunt was in charge of the snack bar. All wards contributed to the snack bar and the country store as well as to their booths. Following the bazaar a pageant pag-eant was given in which all wards and the stake board mem- bers participated. Many requests for the pageant to be repeated have been received and the Stake Relief Society is considering possibilities pos-sibilities of complying with the requests. |
