Show Coin Operated Radios Installed in Iron County Hospital Coin operated radios with loud speakers to be placed under pillows pil-lows were recently installed in the Iron County hospital according accord-ing to Herbert Haight, hospital manager. The installation was accomplished accomp-lished by Willard Hamilton of the Hamilton Electric of Cedar City, with each bed at the hospital hos-pital being equipped with one of the ultra modern radios. Ten cents will be required from patients to play the radios for a period of one hour. These radios ra-dios can be turned off and on with the total hour's time being taken up during playing time only. Dial and volume controls allow patients to tune to their favorite radio programs without interfering with other patients confined to the same wards and rooms. The radios are placed at the head of the bed with the numerals num-erals on the dial in such a position posi-tion that the patient can view them from a lying position and simplify station selection, Mr. Haight stated. Purpose of the instalation was to furnish patients a means of entertainment during their convalescing con-valescing period and eliminate the table model radios that are so noisy for the wards. Mr. Haight, upon completion of installation, asked that townspeople towns-people refrain from bringing radios ra-dios to hospital patients and suggests sug-gests that a dime or two placed in a patient's radio would benefit bene-fit him considerably more and! with less trouble. Mr. Hamilton, who owns the bedside radios will make collections, collec-tions, and is responsible for all maintenance with a small percentage per-centage of the proceeds to be retained re-tained by the Iron County hospital, hospi-tal, Mr. Haight stated. |
