Show Little League Board Takes Over Summer Activities Little League baseball, which ' got off to such a good start during dur-ing the summer .eason of 1952, , has been taken over by the Cedar City Little League board this year with a national franchise in ' the offing according to Clco Pet- ' ty, president of the board. Each of the civic clubs of Cedar Ce-dar City has committed itself to sponsor a Little League team again this summer under the supervision of the Little League board, instead of the City, it is understood. This board, as set up, is composed com-posed of Mr. Petty, president; Glen R. White, vice president; El-loyd El-loyd Marchant. secretary and treasurer, with Wes Mullett, Darwin Dar-win Nelson, Alex Angelo, Klien Rollo and Bill Fritz as directors and Morgan Rollo, player agent. Big league operations will be used in the selection of players for the four teams, Rotary, Lions, Kiwanis and Elks, with team managers from the clubs bidding for the players after a short practice prac-tice season. Uniforms for all four teams with equipment, including catching catch-ing equipment and necessary head protectors are being furnished fur-nished through 'he board, Mr. Petty stated. Eligible youths, between the ages of 8 and 13 years will be chosen for teams as soon as prat 'ticable with a full schedule to be carried out throughout the summer months. A Pony League, for youths between be-tween 13 and 15 is also being organized or-ganized it is understood, with the same set-up as the Little League. However, business firms have been asked to sponsod the teams. Complete organization of the Pony League has not yet been completed. |
