Show Weed Control Plan Set for Lake by Wildlife Federation Weed control at Navajo Lake is in prospect for this summer, according to Lawrence Misel, president of the Cedar Wildlife Federation. Mr. Misel states that a weed cutting machine has been purchased pur-chased by the State Fish and Game department, and will be made available during the summer sum-mer months for cutting weeds on the bottom of Navajo lake. A heavy growth of weods on the lake bottom is said to be detrimental detri-mental to fish life in the lake. It is also reported that supply of poison for the control of trash fish will be received in the neai future, for use at Navajo lake as soon as the ice melts. Game officials report that the trash fish gather in the shallow water on the west end of the lake as the ice melts, making poisoning a fairly easy operation. |
