Show Demonstrations, Displays in Home Eccnomics Set for Branch College Educational Fair Home eccnomics will play an important role in the two-day education fair ti be hold at the Branch Agricultural college on April 17 and IS. Under the direction of Lanice Moore, department chairman, a program of demonstrations and displays is being prepared. Heading the activities for the first day will be a frozon food demonstration by Dr. Kdna Page, professor of foods and nutrition at Utah State Agricultural college. col-lege. This will be held in the home economics kitchen in the science building, and will be open to the public. In the afternoon, a symposium on vocational opportunities in home economics and a fashion show will be held. Girls from the 13 A C home economics depart-Iment depart-Iment will model clothes they have made during the year. Both of these events will he held in the college auditorium. On the morning of the second day of the fair (Saturday), a baking contest for muffins and biscuits will be held with representative repre-sentative students tiom all high schools participating in the program. pro-gram. A tea in the afternoon will enable the students and instructors instruc-tors in home economics to get acquainted. A model kitchen will be set up by the college department in one of the exhibit areas of the fieldhouse. There will be another booth displaying various textiles and a display on the vocations in home economics. As a final touch, the department will have a booth where visitors can buy snacks prepared by students in the field of home economics, Miss Moore reports. |
