Show Grade Point Raise Tightens AFROTC Standards at B AC A recent directive received from AFROTC headquarters at Montgomery, Ala., requires the enforcing of much stricter standards stand-ards of qualifications for those students now otherwise eligible for advanced AFROTC, Lt. Col. Oliver W. Harris commandant of the local unit, announced today. Students maintaining a bare "C" or 1.0 grade point average no longer will be considered for admission to the advanced AF ROTC course of instruction, indicating in-dicating a renewed emphasis up- on scholastic achievement. "Avowed purpose of this move", continued Lt. Col. Harris, "is the recent announcement by Brig. Gen. Mathew K. Deichelman, commanding general of the AF ROTC program, to stress quality quali-ty rather than quantity." |
