Show First District Star Award Won By Rhodes Youth Sunday evening at the Cedar Breaks District Scout Court of Honor. Wm. Eldon Rhodes, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Rhodes of Cedar City will be presented a Star Award for his outstanding achievements in the Explorers. This will be the first Star award w-n by a Cedar Breaks Explorer, as far as it can be determined. The Star Award, equivalent to the Eagle Scout award in the boy scout program, includes the nassing of requirements in four fields of training in the Explor-"r Explor-"r program. Mr. Rhodes acquired his Star award by filling at least Mght of the 10 requirements in the following fields: Outdoor Skills, Emergency Skills, Physical Physi-cal Fitness and Vocational Exploration. Ex-ploration. Under the direction of Dale Tingey, post advisor of the First ward Explorer group, this program pro-gram has been carried out with Rhodes the first to receive the Star award. However, seven oth ed members of the group have completed their gold award re quirements and it is expectec j that several of the members wil receive the same honor at a la ter date.
