Show CSU Education Dept. Offers Basic Teaching Class A course not previously offered in the English and speech departments de-partments this year has been added ad-ded to the schedule at College of Southern Utah and will be open to any student who has completed complet-ed the second Quarter of Basic Communications or its equivalent. equival-ent. "Argumentation and Debate." is the title of the course, previously previ-ously called "Forensics." The course offers three quarter hours credit on either the upper or lower low-er division level, as Speech 13 or Speech 113. Scheduled for the 11 o'clock hour on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the course will offer students stu-dents an opportunity to develop skill not only in debating, but in oratory, extemporaneous and impromptu speaking and in group discussion. Teams of debaters de-baters and participants in other forensic activities on an intercollegiate intercol-legiate basis will be selected from members of this class. Anoth'.-r course (if especial interest in-terest to freshmen is the Fundamentals Funda-mentals of Acting class to be repeated re-peated spring quarter. Those with no previous experience In dramatics, drama-tics, but who have an interest in that field should enroll. Students Stu-dents who successfully complete bls course are in a much better position to participate In the major ma-jor college dramatic productions. |
