Show Amateur Boxing Bouts Set for Saturday Outstanding boxing talent in the amateur ranks in southern Utah, will participate in a boxing box-ing card to be sponsored by the Cedar City Elks Lodge No. 1556 in cooperation with the College ol Southern Utah Saturday evening, Mar. 5. Forty rounds of fast, good boxing box-ing featuring the Elk's Boys Club will furnish an outstanding evening eve-ning of entertainment, according to Kent Hoyt and Spike Bybee, promoters.. Curtain raiser will feature the Nephites against the Lamanites in a free-for-all battle royal. Mac-Lain Mac-Lain Bybee, Steven Cahoon and Leigh Rosenberg will tackle Sanford Steel, Manual Bow and Glenny Soonagua. General admission will be $1.10 with students 75 cents, and all children under 12 accompanied by an adult admission will be admitted free. The card of 10-four-round bouts has been announced as follows: Frank Barrett, Cedar City, vs. Dean Cottam, St. George; Norm Atherley, Cedar City, vs. Joe Bushhead, Chivwitts Indian Reservation; Res-ervation; LaVar Short, Cedar City, vs. Max Torres, Cedar City; Kenny Ken-ny Benson, Cedar City, at 285 pounds, vs. Earl Thompson, St. George, 210 pounds. Herb Corry and Roger Vanden-berghe, Vanden-berghe, both of Cedar City, will meet, as will Alvin Cox and Kenneth Ken-neth Perkins of Cedar City. Ray Jessup, St. George, meets Scott Jenson. Cedar City; Fred Gilliam fights Wilford Jake, both of Cedar Ce-dar City.; Al Bess will tangle with Kenney Benson, Cedar City, and Lester Loops of Kanarraville will meet Rulon Shaefer. These boys have been working out at the new Elks Lodge in Cedar' City under the. instruction of Hoyt and Bybee in connection with the lodge's Boys Club program. pro-gram.
