Robinson family organization, organi-zation, announce that the reunion reun-ion will be held Mar. 5 in the Paragonah Church house The events for the day will include a business meeting at 11 a. m., a lunch at noon and a fine program pro-gram commencing at 1 p. m. Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Davenport are also members of th committee assisting assist-ing the Tophams. Mr. and Mrs. John C. Barton were pleased to be invited as special guests to the Rotary Club's 50th anniversary banquet last Wednesday evening at El Escalate Hotel in Cedar City. The Bartons recently celebrated their 50th anniversary, which occasioned occas-ioned this invitation. They were royally entertained at this affair at which then? were 200 in attendance. at-tendance. Mr. and Mrs. Peter H. Gurr of Parowan, who also celebrated their Golden Wedding this year, were in attendance. Your reporter noticed 29 rela tives and friends from Parago noh who attended the funera! services of Mrs. Emma Smith lr Beaver Thursday,-among whicl were i nomas Kobinson, her 91 year old brother. He Is the last remaining one of 13 children of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Robinson, Sr. Mrs. Pauline Topham and Mrs. Nora Lund, Bee Hive leaders, entertained en-tertained at a quilting Wednesday. Wednes-day. The occasion was to complete com-plete the project of the Bee Hive Birthday quilt. The mothers and grandmothers of the girls, with a few special guests, did the quilting quilt-ing while the 10 girls served delicious de-licious refreshmnnts. Mrs. Hannah Robinson returned return-ed from Salt Lake City Saturday Satur-day where r.he has spent the past two months receiving medical me-dical attention. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Nor-man Harris, with whom she has been staying, brought her home. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hart of Pro-vo Pro-vo spent the week end here with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Har-vey Dunton. Mrs. Dunton and son David went back with them to visit for a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Hanvick In Salt Lake City. Mf. and Mrs. William Williamson William-son spent last Saturday in Beaver Bea-ver visiting with Mrs. Williamson's William-son's people. Mrs. Marion Piatt and two children came back with them to spend the weekend. Friends and relatives in Paragonah Para-gonah are pleased to note the forthcoming marriage of one of its fine young men Bernell Hunt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Hunt. Miss Cynthia Groskeutz of Stockton, Stock-ton, Utah is the young lady Bernell Ber-nell has chosen for his wife. The ceremony will be performed Mar. 5 in their own home which Bernell Ber-nell recently purchased In Stockton. Stock-ton. Mr. and Mrs. Hunt will entertain en-tertain at a wedding reception in honor of the young couple Mar. 12 in Paragonah. Mrs. Hazel Joan Davenport came from Cleai field Saturday to get her son Allen. Her father, Wm. T. Davenport, accompanied her on her return Sunday to assist as-sist with the children and to visit vis-it with his other daughters who live in the northern part of the state. Milton Daily visited in St. George recently with his daughter daugh-ter and her family, Mr. and Mrs. La Von Thompson. Boh Wise of St. Johns, Kan., is spending his 10 day leave from the Navy with friends here and with March Barton in Parowan. He will return Mar. 6 to San Francisco to go aboard his ship The school house auditorium was the scene of a gala affar Saturday evening. Paragonah and Parowan chapter of the A A was the host. Ivan Robb was the master of ceremonies and conducted con-ducted a very fine program. A delicious lunch was served to many guests from all parts of southern Utah after which Mr. and Mrs. Lee Fpencer and a man from Cedar City furnished music for dancing. Mr. and Mrs. Samue! Abbott left Monday evening of last week for eastern points. Mrs. Abbott Ab-bott went as far as Akron, Colo., where she stopped to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Faul Butterfield and family. Mr. Abbot traveled on to St. Louis, Mo. to attend a convention of the National School Board Association. Mrs. Catherine Robb of Salt Lake City spent part of the week end here visiting with her son Ivan and family. She carne Thursday to attend the funeral of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Emma Smith in Beaver. Wc note that three of our students stu-dents who are attending the Parowan Par-owan High School are cast in the operetta, "Gypsy Rover," to be presented Thursday and Monday Mon-day nights The young ladies arc Joan Lamoreaux, Rose Ann Bar ton and Sandra Robb. Mr. and Mrs. John Williamson left Saturday for Richfield to visit Mr. and Mrs. R. H. McBride over the week end. Their grand-, grand-, daughter, Phyllis of Cedar City, called to take them ever. A family fam-ily dinner Saturday evening ' honored Mr. Williamson on his , 80th birthday. Mrs. Bertha Topham traveled to Salt Lake City Friday evening . with Mr. and Mrs. Naze Bryant . of Cedar City, upon receiving word that theT father, Joseph . Mrs. Lasca Hunt and daughters Mildred and Janet and Mrs. Wan-day Wan-day Benson and baby drove to Stockton, Utah Friday to visit with relatives and attend a miscellaneous mis-cellaneous bridal shower given for Miss Cynthia Groskeutz. Mr. and Mrs. Jlmmie Anderson came aown irom 1'rovo Friday to visit over the week end with the James A. Andersons and in Beaver Bea-ver with Jim's sisters. Mr. and Mrs. S. Walter Robb spent Sunday in Cedar City with Mr. and Mrs. Ward Robb and family. They also visited with Jean's parents from Los Angeles, 1 who were also theie. Mr. and Mrs. Vol Sorenson and ' two boys of Enterprise were here Tuesday to visit their sister Mrs. Dortha Barton and bovs. On s.it. urday, Mr. and Mrs. Mont Sorenson Soren-son and daughters from Newcastle Newcas-tle called on Mrs. Barton. Those of our ward attending sessions at the St. George Temple Tem-ple Saturday were Bishop Victor R. Robinson, Clark Lamoreaux, Leonard, Amenzo and Kenneth Topham, Walter and LaGrande Robb, Wlllard and Marva Lund and Lula Bastian. The home of Kenneth and Pauline Pau-line Topham and four boys was made especially happy by having a baby girl in their home for a few days. Pauline drove to Pan-guitch Pan-guitch Thursday to get her little niece, Jan Marie Reynolds. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Rey- nolds, who had been in Salt Lake City, called on Saturday and took her home. Mr. and Mrs. Alma Tophara had as guests Wednesday Me. and Mrs. Carlyle Mitchell of Cedar Ce-dar City. Sunday Mrs. Amy rrothero and son Barton, Mrs. Catherine Don-ton, Don-ton, Walt and Bill Talbot went to Greenville to help Amy's sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Julia Griffith, celebrate her 80th birthday. Julia's daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Lucy Reeve of MiTJbrd, arranged the open house. |
