Show Furniture Salesman Arrested On "Peddling" Charge The controversy between Cedar City Merchants and the city administration ad-ministration of St. George flared up again Wednesday when a salesman for North East Furniture Furni-ture company in Cedar City was arrested in St. George on a charge of "peddling without a license." The salesman, Kurtt Bohn, was taken into custody as he left a home after having shown carpet samples at the home. He had previously made a delivery of merchandise to the St. George home, for which St. George city had previously demanded a delivery de-livery fee be paid, and which the state attorney general had ruled illegal. However, Bohn was not arrested on this charge, but rather ra-ther on a peddling charge. Haze Hunter,, manager of the local furniture store, reports that the salesman had been invited to bring the carpet samples into the home, and that he was not "peddling" in my sense of the word. After being taken into court Mr. Bohn was released, but we have not learned whether or not the charge will be pressed by St. George officials. |
