Show Cedar City League of Women Voters to Elect New Officers, Select Topics for Consideration I The annual meeting of the League of Women Voters of Cedar Ce-dar City at which nominations for officers and study Items for tthe ensuing two-year term are adopted, lias been called for Thursday, Mar. 21, according to Mrs. D. C. Schmutz, president. First order of business on the agenda for the annual event will be the presentation of the officers offi-cers placed In nomination for the next two years. Heading the nominating nom-inating committee is Mrs. A. C. Fretwell, as chairman and the following members: Mrs. Howard Nelson, Mrs. II. Dale Milne and Mrs. Glen Yergensen. Officers of the voter league have announced a choice of two plans for study during the next year. They are: 1, a .study of city ordinances for a better understanding under-standing of the city government and for possible suggestions for improvement, and 2, a study of the public library with a view to possible recommendations for its improvement. L IIHI1.II. ) A list of nominations for the various offices has been announced. an-nounced. This list includes one candidate for each position. After this list Is presented to the membership, mem-bership, other nominations may be made from the floor, according accord-ing to the present election rules of the organization. The nominating committee placed the following names in nomination: for president, two-year two-year term, Mrs. Karl Gardner; vice president, Mrs. Arthur Gardner; Gard-ner; secretary, Mrs. Irvin Ulver; board of directors, Mrs. Charles R. Hunter, Mrs. Gilbert Janson, and Mrs. E. S. Stark; second vice president, terrn ending April 1, 195G, Mrs. Schmutz; treasurer, Mrs. Leslie Cade; one year directors, di-rectors, Mrs. L. V. Broadbent, Mrs. M. A. Cowley and Mrs. Kenneth Reese. A proposed change in the organization's or-ganization's bylaws will also be voted on at the meeting, Mrs. Schmutz said. hi ' ill- 1 It |
