Show High School Band Journeys To Salt Lake City The Farowan high school band left early this (Thursday) morning morn-ing foi Salt Lake City to take part in the huge Pioneer Day celebration that is in progress in the capital city this week. The Parowan band will be a unit in the parade on July 24. The band, 60 members strong, has been working hard under the direction of its leader, Wilford W. Young since it received the invitation to participate in the celebration and Mr. Young says it is capable of making a very commendable showing on Friday morning. The members traveled to Salt Lake City by. school bus and will return home Saturday. Besides taking part in the celebration, cele-bration, the band members had a planned itinerary which included in-cluded visits to Lagoon, Saltair, the pageant in the Salt Lake Tabernacle Ta-bernacle and a stop at the Geneva Gene-va Steel plant Saturday on the way home. The band gave a maneuvering maneuver-ing exhibition and a short concert con-cert last evening Wednesday during dur-ing the last rehearsal before the Salt Lake City appearance. |
