Show I Norma Schmutz Takes Position At U. of Minnesota Norma Schmutz, former Branch Agricultural college student and graduate of the University of Utah, has accepted an appointment appoint-ment to the University of Minnesota Minne-sota faculty for the coming academic aca-demic year. She will become a member of the communication staff in the department of general gener-al studies. While attending BAC, Miss Schmutz won first and second year "A" awards for work in drama, debate and publications. At the University of Utah, she was the recipient of the KSL Scholarship and the senior year "Honor" award. Her activities included, in-cluded, president of Alpha Epsi-Ion Epsi-Ion Rho, radio fraternity; president presi-dent of Chi Theta Phi, literary fraternity; member of Theta Alpha Al-pha Phi, drama fraternity; member mem-ber of the University Theater Advisory Ad-visory Council; associate editor of "Pen", university student magazine. ma-gazine. She also wrote and directed di-rected student assemblies and university radio programs. Before obtaining a Master of Arts degree in the field of speech from the University of Minnesota, Miss Schmutz was a member of the staff of radio station KDYL in Salt Lake City and worked as a free lance writer in Hollywood. Miss Schmutz is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon L. Schmutz of New Harmony. |
