Show Playground Finished j By Kiwanians; Others to Be Built The Kiwanis club of Cedar City has made a very worthwhile contribution to the welfare of Cedar Ce-dar City by the recent completion of a delightful neighborhood playground for the use of children chil-dren living in the northwest section sec-tion of the city. The playground, located in a neighborhood where many young children live, covers a tull city lot, is enclosed by a high net wire fence, and considerable playground equipment has been installed. On the playground are 11 swings, six teeters, and three large sand boxes. The land and materials for the equipment has been purchased by the club, with all work having been done by members of the organization. Therol MacAruthur, president of the Kiwanis club, announces that considering the man hours of work put in the club has invested in-vested $2000 in the project. Future Fu-ture plans call for planting grass on the lot and also planting of a number of shade trees, so that the area will be cool throughout the daytime. When the present area is completed com-pleted the club plans to undertake under-take additional neighborhood playgrounds in various sections of the city. |
