Show Women's Softball Tourney Gets Under Way Tonight in Cedar City Eight Women's Softball teams from southern Utah and Boulder City, Nev., will meet on the local diamond this evening to start a three-day Women's Softball tournament tour-nament that will end Saturday evening under the lights. Four teams from Cedar City, Including Milt's Circus Lounge, Biederman's Hereford Ranch, Thornton Drug and Ray's Cafe will pit their strength against teams from St. George, Kanab, Milford and Boulder City, Nev. The St. George Rocky Mountain Moun-tain crew, last year's champion' will be out to defend its title against the strongest women's teams In the area. Four trophies will be awarded at the end of the fracus, a championship cham-pionship and second place trophy, tro-phy, a consolation trophy and a team sportsmanship trophy. The trophies have been donated to the Cedar City Women's Softball Association, sponsors of the tourney, tour-ney, by Mullett Jewelry, Beal and Biederman's Hereford ranches, ranch-es, Bank of Southern Utah and 'Arden Dairy. An outstanding player will receive a trophy to be awarded by Jones-Crawford Motor company. j The first round of play this 'evening will pit St. George against Thornton Drug in the opener, followed by Biederman Hereford against Kanab, Milford meeting Milt's Circus Lounge and j Boulder City meeting Ray's Cafe in the night cap. Winners this evening will go I into the winning bracket of the tourney and a consolation bracket brack-et will also be played during the three-day affair. Arrangements for the tourney have been made by Mrs. F. L. Biederman, association president, with Mrs. Gam Hirschi, secretary, secre-tary, assisting. LaVell Chamberlain Chamber-lain and Wallace "Red" Osborne of the Cedar City recreation department de-partment drew up the tourney schedule.
