Show Carrick Dudley Leavitt SALT LAKE CITY Carrick Dudley Leavitt, managing editor of the Davis County Clipper, age 49, died Saturday, May 25, 1991 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. He was born April 25, 1942 in Las Vegas, Nev. to Dudley M. and Elethra Cox Leavitt. He married mar-ried Martha Diaz in St. Anthony, and graduated from the University of Utah in journalism. He worked as a journalist and editor for United Press International, Daily Spectrum, and most recently for the Davis County Clipper. An active member of the LDS Church, Mr. Leavitt held the office of liigh priest and had served as a full-time full-time missionary to England. He had served as ward executive secretary, stake Young Men's leader and recently, re-cently, with his wife, served as a stake missionary. He enjoyed sports, hunting, hun-ting, fishing and the outdoors. He was an avid reader. Surviving family members include his wife of Bountiful; two sons, Cary Leavitt, Cedar City; Marco Leavitt, Bountiful; father Dudley M. and stepmother step-mother Helen Leavitt, Cedar City; two brothers and six sisters, Beme Leavitt, Las Vegas, Nev.; Coby Leavitt, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Henry (Bonnie) Cook, Saudi Arabia; Mrs. Chuck (Sue) Curtis, Apple Valley, Calif; Mrs. Kent (Kathy) Baldwin. Cedar City; Mrs. Terry (Valeni) Witbeck, Columbus, Ga;. Mrs. Kari (Trieste) Bentley, Price; and Dolene Leavitt, Las Vegas, Nev. His first grandchild is expected in July. Preceded in death by mother, Elethra Cox Leavitt. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 30, at 4 p.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, where friends may call from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the St. George City Cemetery under the direction of the Metcalf Mortuary. Idaho in 1965; their marriage was later solemnized in the Seattle, Wash. LDS Temple. , Mr. Leavitt's early years were spent in St. George. He attended school in St. George and Cedar City, |
