Show Booklet answers coverage queries By JAMS STUART Clipper Correspondent Terminated workers or employees who lose health insurance in-surance coverage because of reduced reduc-ed working hours can find answers to their questions about health insurance in-surance in the publication titled i "Health Benefits Under the Consolidated Con-solidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Recon-ciliation Act." Unlike the name, the booklet is an easy-to-understand explanation information on the option to buy group health coverage for themselves them-selves and their families for limited periods of time. Some retirees and spouses and dependents in cases other than employment termination or reduced hours in a work week, such as death or of divorce from a covered employee, may also qualify for certain cer-tain health benefits. We want the public to know about their benefits said David George Ball, assistant secretary for the Pension and Welfare Benefits Administration, "and this free booklet is a handy guide to the important im-portant subject of continuing group health coverage." A free copy of the booklet may be obtained by sending one's name and address to COBRA, Consumer Information Center, Pueblo, CO. 81009. The booklet also defines terms, explains how long coverage can last, how the law works and the benefits included as well as how to file a claim. |
