Show np Planet l( vcc-" v Saving There are bins for the deposit of plastic shopping bags located at Shopko, Albert sons and Smiths. Instead of placing grass clippings in the garbage can, reuse them by leaving them on your lawn or placing plac-ing them in a mulch or compost pit. A season's worth of clippings is about equal to one application of a commercial lawn fertilizer. Other yard and garden wastes such as leaves and vegetable peelings peel-ings make good compost also. There are books available at the Kaysville Library to help you get started with a compost system. Newspapers that have black and white print also make good garden mulch. Newspapers can also be rolled into logs for fuel in wood burning stoves. It is wise to have three refuse containers outsideone for compost, com-post, one for recyclables and one for garbage. The recyclables can be separated out further when the bin fills. |
