Y 1 -1 n invitation to party on the street is the best way for a neighborhood to renew old friendships and meet new members of the block. When people are too busy to do more than wave as they pass by in the car, a block party offers the chance to meet with neighbors of all ages, swap crabgrass tales and share local history. The block party can be as programmed as the planners decide. If there is a neighborhood organization, a structure and location already may be set. A first attempt may begin simply as a potluck meal and a game of croquet, but once the seed has been sown, plenty of colorful ideas will sprout to match neighbors interests. Variety and plenty are in style for the food, and dishes made with convenience foods make it easy to fill the tables. Remember: Always keep hot foods hot and cold foods icy cold right up to serving time. Leaving perishable food open several hours for nibbling is not a safe practice. Have a general idea of the time range of the meal and offer a little something for all age groups. Dishes made with convenience foods make it easy to fill the tables. For appetizers, Devilish Eggs made with Underwood Deviled Ham offer variety with old-fashioned old-fashioned appeal by the dozen. Kids will go for something more prehistoric like Dinosaur Dip. The ham spread and cheese figure will be on the verge of "extinction" once the California Ripe Olives disappear from down his back. Raw veggies crisply complete the dish, while more ripe olives are handy for instant nibbling. Baked beans and a cool bean salad satisfy appetites that grow with the fun of getting together. B&M Brick Oven Baked Beans fill this double requirement as they are served warm in Sweet 'n Sour Beans and Franks or chilled in a picturesque Confetti Bean Salad. Heat up the grills for a variety of meats. All-natural Ac'cent Flavor Enhancer brightens the flavor of both "Honey-Roasted" "Honey-Roasted" Chicken and Savory Beef marinades. Brownies inspired by zebras and baked the easy way with a swirl of cream cheese are a delicious way to appease a sweet tooth at the end of the day. This meal will make everyone eager to come back to party on the street next year. 12 hard cooked eggs 1 can (4 ounces) Underwood Deviled Ham 3 tablespoons mayonnaise 2 tablespoons stone ground mustard 1 tablespoon horseradish Cut eggs in half lengthwise; remove the yolks and mash with a fork.
