Show r r f t, ' - 1 Pccs and Pons are entertaining Ah, the best and the worst. Graduation seniors had the opportunity op-portunity to let the world know how they have felt about things during this, their senior year. Movie makers, car dealers and school cooks could learn a lot about their products from the candid responses given by the 1991 graduating classes of Davis County. It seems that the seniors' taste in movies has gone to the dogs. "Dances With Wolves received receiv-ed far more votes than any other movie this year. Some brave seniors dared buck the tradition and vote for some of the less known movies. "Barbi and the Shrimp' received a Vote, as did "Grave Yard Shift. However, the good taste of seniors was verified by putting "Nothing But Trouble' on the list of worst movies, with no one even jokingly putting it on the best list. There was a surprising variety in the selection of best and worst books. One student, definitely into variety, chose two favorites. One was Lord of Rings and the other was Where's Waldo. The best and worst selections under fast food restaurant were confusing. When one group of students would vote for a particular par-ticular restaurant as the worst, another group would vote for the same restaurant as the best. Cutler's and Subway were among the few that appeared only on the best list Some actors really took a beating by the seniors. Parents can take comfort in knowing that, despite all of the publicity Madonna and Roseanne Ban receive, they are far from well-liked well-liked or admired personalities. With some of the responses, it was difficult to tell if the seniors were being serious or trying to put one over on the survey taker. Two of the best actors listed were Tattoo and Ronald Reagan. When it comes to best and worst places to take a date, these seniors can be really creative. Unfortunately, some of them also need to be be chaperoned. For the students who responded, 'to bed,' the surveyors will leave that answer for parents to handle. Choices for best places to take a date included a sunset or sunrise breakfast, Hawaii, a party par-ty at Liz's and the symphony. One of the best dates was to take a date to K Mart and see how much could be purchased for $5. Places that people did not want to go on a date included the junk yard, an ACDC Concert and miniature golf. However, the poor student who responded, "What's a date?" would probably prob-ably settle for any of the above. There were few surprises in the best car picks. Mustang, BMW, Corvette and jeeps were all prominent. Sadly, the Pinto really took a beating. As survey talliers were counting coun-ting the votes, one entry was in a category by itself-Michelle's urban assault unit, which must also be in a category by itself. After tallying the choices for best and worst school lunch, it is easy to see why school lunch cooks are ready for summer vacation. Several students listed a potato bar as the best school lunch, others listed it as the worst. Some students listed tacos as the best, some listed them as the worst. Some students listed chicken nuggets as the best, some listed them as the worst A few students were more conclusive in their decisions. One student said that the worst was anything with gravy, several said mystery meat, and some just concluded that all school lunches were 'the worst. With the myriad of opinions voiced by this year's seniors, it appears there will be a huge variety of personalities graduating and going go-ing out into the world. The myriad of opinions also indicate that with these seniors, the future will be anything but dull. |
