Sean Dunroe was bom in Tokyo, Japan, to Tom and Shayla Dunroe. At two years of age he returned with his family and lived in Centerville. At 12 years of age he earned his Eagle rank in scouting. He is a member of the Viewmont High School Academic Olympiad Team, National Honor Society, and captain of the swim team. Sean's speech centers on great individuals. He wrote: "Napoleon Hill once said, 'No man ever achieved worthwhile wor-thwhile success who did not, at one time or other, find himself with at least one foot hanging over the brink of failure.' "Everyone in this class of 1991 has the potential to do great things. If we are willing to face challenges and overcome failures, we can do anything we want to. Everyone's always told me that You can do anything you want to as long as you put your mind to it. Nothing is impossible.' im-possible.' It took me quite a while to realize that's not true. We have to do more than just put our minds to it. We have to honestly hon-estly try. We even have to do more than that. We have to try with all the strength we have; we have to give 100 percent effort to every worthwhile goal that we can ever expect to achieveor we'll just fail." Ryan Mori shit a is the son of Bob and Karen Morishita. He reads extensively, collects basketball cards, and watches TV (mostly basketball games and World War II movies) in his spare time. He describes himself as "a member of the National Honor Society and the band and copy editor of the yearbook. I was a National Merit finalist and Sterling Sterl-ing Scholar finalist in math and have a 4.0 GPA and a 33 ACT and I didn't receive the Presidential Presiden-tial Scholarship at the U of U. I have never been linked to a government cover-up, I have never been accused of poaching, and I have never had to declare bankruptcy, just to name a few accomplishments. My valedictory valedic-tory address will include the following lines: "We are here tonight to commemorate our high school graduation. Several times tonight, to-night, you will hear people tell you this is the "first night of the rest of your life" or this night marks your 'entrance into adulthood.' I would like to add that this may be your exit from childhood" Twin brothers, Ammon and Aaron Jones, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Jones, have also been chosen as valedictorians. Ammon has served as the student stu-dent body vice president this year. He is a member of the National Honor Society and has maintained a 4.0 GPA while completing six advanced placement place-ment classes. He will be attending atten-ding Brigham Young University on a Trustees scholarship this fall. His brother, Aaron, is currently current-ly the student body president of Viewmont High School. He has been active in concert choir and has performed in the school musical for two years. He has also been a member of the soccer, basketball and football teams. Aaron is the recipient of several scholarships and awards and will be attending Brigham Young University this fall on a Trustees scholarship. He has maintained a 4.0 GPA during four years of high school. James Anderson is the son of Marcia and Dan Anderson. lames was fortunate enough to have Mr. Mills as his sixth grade teacher at Centerville Elementary. It was in Mills class that he grew academically. James remembers Mr. Mills as a friend and an inspiration. James has enjoyed the challenges, the defeats, and the victories that high school brings. He was elected student body secretary sec-retary for this 1990-91 year, he was a Boys' Stater, he was honored to attend BYU's advanced ad-vanced high school studies program pro-gram during his junior year, he is the recipient of a scholarship to BYU and has been honored by the Elks' Lodge with a $500 "most valuable student" scholarship. |
