Show Celestia is recycling Dear Editor: I was humored by the editorial by Powell. He claimed that Kenley B runs dale, with the help of his wife Celestia, snuck into the Bountiful parade. Obviously, Jim Hansen, Bob Linnell, and Company were worried by the warm response that Kenley and Celestia received in the parade. As one who knows them well, there are no two more dedicated, caring and sincere modem-day pioneers in Davis County. It was funny to see the reference to Celestia as a "supporter" of recycling recycl-ing she is recycling. Her program for Bountiful won a national award and is being modeled in over 15 other cities. It was refreshing that Kenley was comfortable riding under her banner and acknowledging acknowledg-ing her accomplishments in a Utah parade. While we are setting the record straight, Kenley is the only political leader fighting against the pipeline on our behalf. It is ironic that Kenley has done more for us as a political candidate than Jim Hansen has done as a Congressman. To me, that indicates we need a change. What is perhaps most interesting is the way some Davis County officials offi-cials are putting partisan politics ahead of responsible government. They are so worried that Celesiia might get a little credit for her recycling program that they criticize her for being part of our parade. They are so afraid to recognize recog-nize Kenley's efforts against the pipeline they are willing to compromise com-promise the fight against it. It is time for the partisan politics to stop the well-being of our community com-munity is more important than selfish self-ish political goals. Lillian Wood |
