Show Stitt featured at fall recital A fall recital featuring Virginia Stitt, assistant professor of music at Southern Utah State College, will be held Oct. 6 at the Thorley Recital Hall. The recital will begin at 8 p.m., and is free to the public. Dr. Stitt will play oboe, bassoon and recorder during the performance. She will be assisted by Christine Winterrose, soprano; Jennie Outram, violin; Carol Ann Nyman, cello; and Lynn Anderson on piano and harpsichord. Compositions will be presented by Telemann and Handel, both composers com-posers of the Baroque period; Mozart, a classical composer; and by two 20th century composers, Gordon Jacob and Franz Rein-zenstein. "The public is invited to attend this recital, the first of many excellent performances which will be offered by the SUSC music department this year," David Nyman, department chairman, said. |
