Show Elizabethan fashions to go on tour An inside look at Elizabeth fashion will be offered students at several Utah schools October 1-3 when Southern Utah State College's Shakespearean costume tour is taken to northern Utah. "SUSC has been sponsoring the costume tour now for 14 years," R. Scott Phillips, theater promotions coordinator, said. "In all, some 50 costumes, origianlly designed for productions of the Utah Shakespearean Festival, are modeledd at each performance by SUS'.C students and theater department personnel." The narrative for each show is presented by Fred C. Adams, production director of the USF, who gives audiences an inside look at fashion from the year 1,000 A.D. to the death of Queen Elizabeth I in 1603 "We've shown the costumes in high school cafeterias, at the former Governor's Mansion, and at all points in between," Phillips said. Approximately Ap-proximately a quarter million people have seen the show. The first shows this season have been held at the Utah Arts Festival and for meetings of the Utah Speech and Drama Clinic and the Western States Association of Tax Administrators. A performance per-formance is scheduled for the near future at SUSC. |
