Show Cross "Country Hart leads SUSG squad Cross country prospects for Southern Utah State College will depend heavily on the expected strong performances per-formances of junior Keenan Hart. "We've got some other good runners who will help us, but each of them will have to work hard, if we are to be a serious challenge for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference title," Boyd Adams, Thunderbird coach, indicates. Hart, a' graduate of Cedar City H&h School,, did not compete last season because of question over his eligibility after he returned from a two-year LDS Church mission. He has won several meets during the summer and performed well against Arizona University and Northern Arizona University in the first meet of the season. Back from last year's squad are lettermen Eric Hould, Kee Yazzie, and Steve Onaga. Richard Adams, a letter winner three years ago is also back but will need to work hard to get in shape for this year, according to Adams. Four freshmen round out the squad. They include in-clude Dere Lamb (Valley High, Las Vegas), Kris Nebeker(Richfield), Richard Snow (Emery), and Dan Cable (Bingham), "Both Lamb and Snow were state 800-meter champions last spring in their respective divisions," Adams says. "Lamb, right now looks like he could develop into a very competitive cross country runner." |
