Show Cooper announces candidacy for House f4 i Democrat Inez Cooper recently announced her intentions to run for the Utah House of Representatives, district 74, representing Iron and Kane Counties. The position is being vacated by S. Garth Jones, who has decided not to run for reelection. Daphne Dalley originally filed for the seat from the Democratic Party, but since decided not to run. Cooper will be running against Republican Haze Hunter in the November election. In making the announcement, an-nouncement, Cooper said, "My decision to run is based not on the fact that I am a politician at heart, but because I do have a desire to serve." She has served for many years in various positions of community service. She has served as county chairman of the Bicentennial Committee, vice president of the League of Women Voters and as a member of the Iron Mission Park Commission. Cooper feels that some of the greatest challenges facing the state, especially southern Utah, involve planning. She stated that she is concerned, con-cerned, involved and wants to see the area grow in an ordered manner. Inez Cooper |
