Cedar City boy dies A three-year-old Cedar City boy was killed Sept. 25 when he was struck by a small pickup truck in front of his home at 300 North 700 West. Ketih Specer Searcy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Searcy, was reported dead on arrival at Valley View Medical Center at approximately 5:30 p.m. from injuries received when he ran into the path of the oncoming vehicle. According Ac-cording to investigating officer Lynn Davis, the driver of the truck, Galen J. Allred, 34, of Kanarraville, was unable to avoid the accident when the small boy darted onto the roadway from some shadows. According to Davis, Allred in no way contributed to the accident, and no citations were issued. Paramedics at the scene could not save the boy, even though first-aid procedures were applied almost immediately. |
