Show Man charged with tampering A convenience store manager was arrested Sept. 25 by Cedar City police on a third degree felony warrant for allegedly tampering with a witness. Jimmy Kent Munford, 18, was arrested for allegedly attempting to induce a witness in a criminal case to testify in the pending court proceedings contrary to his statements already made to the police. The warrant was a result of an investigation by Cedar City officers into allegations that Munford, who manages the E Z Shop at 734 South Main Street, reportedly gave two high school students three six-packs of beer to assault a third student. According to police reports, Munford allegedly wanted the boy assaulted because of a small garbage can fire set at the E Z Shop on Septmeber 23. Munford was released from custody when $750 bail was posted. He is also being charged with contributing to the delinquency of minors and distributing beer to minors in connection with the incident. The two 15-year-old juveniles who allegedly accepted the beer and assaulted the third student were charged in juvenile court with assault and consumption of alcohol. |
