Show SUSC theatre season to begin The most ambitious season in some 21 years of campus-community theater has been planned for 1980-81 by the Southern Utah State College theater department. depart-ment. The season passes are $12 for adults, a 42 percent per-cent savings over regular box office prices, Phillips said. Senior citizens can purchase season tickets for an even more substantial sub-stantial savings. The 1980-81 campus-community campus-community theater season includes --"Gaslight" (Angel Street), Oct. 27 November 1, a Victorian murder mystery first produced in London and filmed later as the movie "Gaslight." Directed by Gary M. Mclntyre, chairman of the SUSC Department of Communication-Theater Arts. - --"Pippin," Dec. 5-6 and 11-13, a musical about the son of the Emperor Charlemagne in an Eight Century quest for fulfillment, directed by Fred C. Adams. --"The Belle of Amherst," Jan. 5-10, a new play about Emily Dickinson from the age of 15 until her death at 56 directed by R. Scott Phillips. --"The Cherry Orchard," Or-chard," Mar. 6-7 and 12-14, 12-14, Anton Cheko's modern theater classic, also directed by R. Scott Phillips. --"Beauty and the Beast," April 6-11, a production for children directed by Sandra Stiglinski, SUSC costumer. The play has been selected to tour southern Utah as part of PTA Fine Arts Week. -"The Guardsman, " April 24-25, the Pioneer State Theater Foundation production for 1981, mounted at SUSC and directed by Professor Adams. A farce by Fernec Molnar, the play will be remounted and staged next summer as a matineee performatnce of the Utah Shakespearean Festival. --"The Wiz," May 22-23 and 28-30, Dorothy's adventures in the Land of Oz as dreamed by a child |
