Show Uintah Basin bowlers net titles The fourth annual Vernal Officers' Tournament was held recently at Dinah Bowl. Officers from the women's and mens' association as well as the league . officers were eligible to participate. Second place was captured by the Dinal Bowl Classic league at 2455. The team consisted of Betty Johnson, Bert Clark, Wes Kerr and Jim Peltier. The Night Hawks league tied for 2nd place. The team consisted of Dave White, Darrell LaRose, Terry White and Rick Martinez. Sherry Richards and Austin Steele captured first place doubles at 1288 and Faye and Ed Yack nabbed second place and Les Maier and Wayne Hall netted third place at 1236. DeNee Williams won the first place in the singles at 672 and Peggy Latham placed second at 666. Janet Hatch netted third place at 663. Some of the other outstanding bowling bowl-ing recently has been Blaine Ralphs coming up with a 7-10 split while bowling bowl-ing on the Sunday night mixed Muscles and Bustles league and Betty Johnson putting together a 671 scratch series which is the highest series bowled by a lady bowler at Dinah Bowl while competing com-peting for the Ladies 600 club league. Other bowlers who recently nabbed their first 600 or over scratch series are Penny Edwards, 632; Gladys Steele, 611; Jana Warby, 606 and Jane Guifey, 611. |
