Show Conservation teacher award announced Nominations are being accepted for the national "Conservation Teacher of the Year" award program. The competition is open to all full time teachers working at the kindergarten through high school level who have developed an outstanding program in environmental education. Co-sponsored by NACD and the Allis Chalmers Corporation, the purpose of the awards program is to encourage the development of creative learning experiences ex-periences in conservation for young people. First place "Conservation Teacher of the Year" will receive $1,000 plus an expense paid trip to the National Association of Conservation Districts National Convention where the cash award will be presented. Second place National winner will receive a $500 cash award. The winner in each of the seven NACD regions will be presented a plaque and a check for $200. In addition, a certificate will be presented to each state level winner. Nominations may be made to the Conservation District by anyone within the Uintah and Duchesne County area for any teacher meeting the eligibility requirements. Teachers may submit their own names for consideration. Nomination forms must be submitted to the Uintah Basin Soil Conservation District by March 31. |
