The new members are Doug Bowen, Vicki Fowler, Michelle Green, Kelly Sorensen, Judy Jameson, and Paul Kay. Jerome Davies gave a short welcoming speech and the awards were presented by Grant Drollinger, principal prin-cipal of Vernal Jr. High. The parents of the new members were invited to share in the special occasion. To become a member of the society, the students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or above. The eligible students are rated by their teachers on citizenship, leadership, service and character. The scores are tallied and the new members are chosen. Each term three ninth graders, two eighth graders and one seventh grader are chosen. The Jr. Honor Society produces the "Panther Pause" which is Vernal Jr. High's newspaper. The Honor Society's advisor is Ruth Grinstead, assisted by Shelly Hatch. |
