Show Which Do You Trust? Which would you expect to go the fastest over a short distance: a cheetah or a racehorse? It would be best to trust the cheetah. Considered the fastest of all land animals over distances up to 600 yards, cheetahs probably have a maximum speed of up to 63 miles an hour. The fastest racehorse has been clocked at 43.26 miles per hour. Which would you trust to make the best use of the money generated by decontrolling decon-trolling oil prices: the oil companies or the Federal government? Many say it's best to trust the oil companies. Gulf Oil, for example, has pledged to spend the great bulk of whatever it receives from crude oil price control to provide the energy our nation needs now and in the future. They cannot, however, how-ever, spend money they don't have. It's up to the American people to decide how hard we want the U.S. oil industry to work in finding and developing both conventional and alternate energy sources. |
