Show ($2) fliujirEsoys ft fee Sixty-five turkeys and roasts will be given away, Sat. Nov. 24, to begin the holiday season with Vernal's Turkey Days first drawing. Two of the four drawings Nov. 24 and Dec. 1, will be held at the Zions parking lot and the last two will be in the Safeway parking lot. Sixty-five turkeys and roasts, donated by the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce merchants and the Uintah Cattlemen's Association, will be given away at 11 p.m. every Saturday until Christmas'. "All you have to do is come and get a ticket, we pull them out of a hat and if you're the lucky one you win a turkey or roast," said Irvin Haws, ABC Local Promotions Committee chairman. Last year about 270 turkeys were given away and 22 roasts. Before the turkey drawing Nov. 24 a kid's matinee will be at the Vernal Theater at 10:30 a.m. with a Christmas program. ' Santa Claus will arrive at the Jr. High School football field by helicopter at 1:30 p.m. the same day. Children are invited in-vited to visit with Santa in the Jr. High cafeteria at 1:45 p.m. Persons should enter thru the west entrance of the Jr. High. Pictures will be taken of children with Santa and the precedes will go to the Christmas Committee. Winners of the Jr. High Christmas poster contest are first Shelley Pilling, second Michelle Mott, third Janna Rae Stevens and fourth Mark Galley.
