' abouif l)eing done and wnat can we ut mflation is discussed in the Advertising Council inflation pamphlet. Some of the things we are doing include curbing government spending and unnecessary un-necessary regulations of industry. Credit controls are now being tightened and steps are being taken to restore the value of the dollar overseas, and to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Voluntary wage and price guidelines have also helped curtail inflation. Some of the ways we can all help slow inflation are as follows: Make every ef-- ef-- fort to keep the lid on wages and prices and encourage our leaders to do the same. Increase productivity, meaning to be more efficient. As a consumer we must buy wisely, shop carefully and budget wisely. We must also vote for federal, state and local representatives who will fight against inflation. We really have no choice. We can't afford af-ford to let high inflation rates continue. If we don't act now, things will only get worse. We must all resolve and have confidence con-fidence that we can lick inflation so we can turn the tide. If every business, worker and family will help fight inflation infla-tion by making wise decisions in their purchase of goods and services, inflation infla-tion can be controlled. We are called upon to act with strength and confidence and selflessness-to show restraint as individuals in-dividuals and as a people and to make every effort to live within our means. Inflation can be beaten, and we can help do it. |
