Behunin, LaRue Smuin, Josephine Yergensen, Carol Carter and Frank Prante. Vernal Credit Women speak at small business seminar Three Vernal Credit Women, LaRue Smuin, Sowards and Sons; Carol Carter, Dave Jolley Chev.; and Marion A. Behunin, Tri Co Adjustment Service were guest speakers for the Small Business Management Seminar held in Roosevelt Thursday of last week. Ms. Smuin, spoke on accounts receivable in a small business, Ms. Carter gave step by step on how to receive consumer credit and how to set ' it up, while Mrs. Behunin spoke on collections in a small business. All speakers tied their comments in with protecting the small business from bad debt loss. George Mangan, attorney, spoke on legal aspects of the small business and Dick Acord, manager of Zions First National Bank spoke on financing the small business. Franklin Prante, Small Business Development Center, Utah State University introduced the speakers to about 25 registered participants. The Seminar was sponsored by t the Small Business Administration, Utah State Industrial Development, and USS Rural Development. Another Seminar is planned for November 29 starting at 6 p.m. at Zions First National Bank in Roosevelt. Some of the topics to be discussed will be taxes, recordkeeping, business systems and how to choose and acquire them. |
