! EXPECTED TROUBLE FAILS TO MATERIALIZE NEW YOEK, May 22. "Heaven on Earth," a German comedy, was staged in the German lang-uaire here tonight without disturbance, although a small army of police was held in ' ambush in the neighborhood of the theater. Rumors reaching the police prompted Inspectors to order out a heavy guard, as tho word was to the effect that soldiers and sailors were contemplating "taking all the heaven out of it." The police and provost guard preparations, prepara-tions, which included handcuffs for the raiders, were elfective, for not a single uniformed man appeared. "The tar Spangled Banner," piayed by the orchestra orches-tra as a "curtain raiser," was given scattered applause.
