The Antisaloon league of Oregon, in a bulletin bul-letin made public today, declared that the wartime prohibition measure w'as passed to conserve food products of the nation and quoted Herbert Hoover to prove that the need was never greater than at present, in voicing opposition to the recommendation of 1 resident Wilson on tho subject. Edward Iiawdeu, superintendent ot the league, characterized the waste of one pound of food in the manufacture of intoxicating liquors as "worse than criminal," in view of the nation s task of feeding the world. |
