Show SERGEANT YORK TO BE HONOR GUEST NEW 1TRK, Hay. 22. Sergeant Al-vin Al-vin C. York of the 32Sth infantry, -who, at the head of a detachment of seven men, killed twenty Germans, took 132 prisoners, including a major and three lieutenants, and put thirty-six machine guns out of operation, arrived today on the transport Ohioan wearing the congressional con-gressional medal, of honor and the French croix de guerre. Sergeant York's home is in Pall Mall, Tenn. He won his honor in the Argonne drive last October, Octo-ber, when a corporal. Sergeant York will be the guest of honor tomorrow night at a banquet given by the Tennessee society. |
