Show I Reviving Batteries. ivrnianeutly reviving a dry battery after it has become exhausted, is impos-I impos-I silde. but it is possible to revive it temporarily tem-porarily and a knowledge of the method I of doinp this may sometimes prove ex- tremely ui-eful. Make a solution of four , ounces of salammoniae. added to a quart : of warm water, with a half ounce of permanganate of potash. Next bore holes about an eighth of an inch in diameter diam-eter all over the zinc casing of the cell and soak the battery in t he solut;un for i three or four days. The output will show a marked increase, which will continue for some little time. F. en better results re-sults may be obtained by chars the battery for a few hours, just as if it were a s to rape battery at a currer.t rate of one ampere through a lamp. The positive posi-tive of the charpinp element should be connected with the carbon element of the battery. |
