Show SUBIUURIHE SINKS wrap Crew Is Rescued by Another An-other Ship, Which- Is Spared by U-Boat, MADEIP, Feb: The Spanish reamer M3r-Caspio has been sunk by a submarine on her way to Xew York uith a cargo of cork. The crew was picked up by tho Spanish steamer Claudio Lopez y Lopez, which also was stopped by the submarine, but later was allowed to proceed. The captain of the Claudio Lopez had the preatest difficulty in inducing the commander of the submarine to allow al-low him to continue the voyape. The submarine commander wanted to sink the liner because it was carrying a number of cars consigned to the Spanish Span-ish Northern railroad, which is partly French-owned. The Mar-Caspio was a vessel of '2T25 tons gross, built St Newcastle in and owned in Bilbao. The sickinf of the Spanish steamer Mar-Caspio makes the third such occurrence oc-currence in less than four weeks. On Januarv 23 a German submarine sank the Spanish steamer Giralda, and February Feb-ruary 13 the Spanish steamer Ceferino was destroyed by a U-boat. On February Febru-ary 10 the Italian steamship Puca di Gecova was sunk within Spanish territorial ter-ritorial waters. Madrid advices Thursday reported that the Spanish government would oublish the text, of three notes sent to the German government concerning the siniin? of the Giralda. Ceferino" and Duea. di Geneva.
