Show MARCH 8 15 FIXED 1 FOR M REVIEW Soldiers at Camp Kearny Prepare for Postponed Big Inspection. AMPLE TIME IS GIVEN Unnaturalized Men of German Ger-man Birth Dismissed, Pursuant Pur-suant to Orders. By FLOYD A. TIMMEEMAN, Staff Correspondent. CAMP KEARXY, Cal., Feb. 23. Sammies of the Sunshine division will hold their big review March 8. This date was decided upon this morning by Major-General Frederick S. Strong and announced at noon to members of the division. Plenty of time is being given in order that the broad parade grounds may be put in shape after the deluge of yesterday. When the sun this morning morn-ing sponged the deep holes of water from the drill spaces the ground in spots resembled shell craters where the water had drained off. Tomorrow hundreds hun-dreds of soldiers wil be put to work in filling in the holes and levelling the ground to its former smoothness. General Strong has his smile baek again today and although he is keenly disappointed to have To postpone the review, he said that he was glad the rain came, for the sake of the farmers, who are far more important than any parade. The last thing That had been counted upon in making the plans was i the rain. Since the establishment of tamp Kearny there have been but three heavy storms, the one arriving yesterday yester-day the worst in the history bf the cantonment. In planning the next date for the review the officers have also taken another condition into consideration considera-tion and the date being set so far ahead there is but slight chance of rain, the season now being practically ended. Expect It'ore Visitors. The postponement of the review until next month will probably mean that it wiil be witnessed by more representatives representa-tives from the various states than were present yesterday. Due to previous engagements en-gagements only one governor of the five states represented by troops at (amp Kearnv was able to make the journey. This governor was Hunt of Arizona. Invitations will now be immediately issued for the new date so that the various state executives mav be present. pres-ent. " Thousands of visitors who had arrived ar-rived from all parts of the west visited the camp today. Scores of them were Vtab people. This morning they had the opportunity of inspecting the can- tonnient in its best siiape. The rain ! had cleared the atmosphere of dust, j washed the tents and buildings and i thoroughly cleaned the cement streets. 1 The bright warm sun completed the job and relatives of the sokiiers left the idea that the "Sunshine. Sammies" were fortunate to be training in such a home. Utah Health Leads. I'tnh led the entire division-in health conditions during the past week. This was shown on the report issued by the division sanitary department this morning. morn-ing. Practically no sickness has entered en-tered the carnp of the Utah boys during dur-ing the past seven days, which is considered con-sidered little short of wonderful when it covers a command of 1500 hard-working men. Artillery commands of the division carried off first, second and third honors in health, according to the report. Utah's sister regiments, the 1 bird and lf4Th artillery are shown seond and third respectively. Ail drills were called off in the Utah regiment regi-ment this morning and the men busied themselves in preparing for the regular in-pection. Manv of the artillervmen had been given liberty to remain away fioi the carnp over night after the holiday yestei-iav and wiil not report for fluty until Monday morning. At noon the soldiers piled aboard the spc- I cial trains lor s-aa I)i-i'o.
