Show WOMAN 15 NAMED IN . GERMAN PLOTS Authorities at San Francisco Fran-cisco Hear Confession of Teuton Under Arrest. SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 23. A woman wom-an was named as a protagonist on alleged destructive acts of the Industrial Workers Work-ers of the World along the Pacific coast in a confession of Fritz Ilagerniau, a ! Herman, who today is in the custody of federal authorities. The confession, they said, detailed plots to burn grain and buildings and poison cattle in four states. The woman was named as one of six persons who rode to Lassen county last September to ignite the million-dollar plant of the Kcd'Eiver Lumber company com-pany at Woodside. Her name", as well as those of the others of vtho party, is withheld by the federal authorities. Hagermau confessed, tho officials said; that he had been paid $73 for helping to burn tho Tied River mill, that lie set fire to a farmhouse at Whitewater, White-water, Cal.. in 10J.7. and that he had poisoned cattle in California, Oregon, Idaho and Washington. Statements credited to Hagerman were made in the presence of thoXassen county officials. At the time of his alleged confession the authorities asked this question: "At the last meeting of the I. W. W. in this district, did the members know you were connected with the burning of the lied River Lumber company's lumber lum-ber at West wood?" His answer was "yes," according to tiie authorities. Hagerman said he came to this country coun-try from Germany in 1910. |
